I love stir-fry because it is simple and quick to make. You can literally stir-fry any vegetable with any meat. This recipe feature Bok Choy and pork. Enjoy.

Bok Choy and Pork Stir-Fry

  • 1 lb pork sirloin, sliced

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 6 Bok Choy, washed

  • 1 stalk green onion, sliced

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • ½ tsp five-spiced powder or grated gingerroot (I used both)

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Optional but highly recommended

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  1. Slice pork in half lengthwise; cut crosswise into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick slices. In large wok or skillet, heat half of the oil over high heat; stir-fry pork until just a hint of pink remains, 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

  2. Add remaining oil to wok. Stir-fry bok choy, five spice powder, garlic, and ginger until greens are wilted, about 3 minutes.

  3. Return the pork and any accumulated juices to the wok. Whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, hoisin sauce or oyster sauce (if used); stir into wok and cook, stirring, until thickened, about 1 minute. Sprinkle with green onions.

  4. Serve over rice
